Hello;

My finance was wondering, if she needs her parents marriage certificate, or fathers death certificate, to get married in the U.S.

My thinking was she doesn't, but didn't know for sure. Apparently there might be a problem with them, as well and she's concerned about that.

She's from the Philippines, & we're marrying on a k1 in the state of Michigan.

Thanks, in advance for any input;

No... not that I've ever heard of at least... She just needs the visa and her own identification forms (birth certificate and passport)... her parents' records should be irrelevant.

Nope. Don't need any documents from her parents.

Did you check the State of Michigan website for what they require? Most likely HER birth certificate, passport with visa ( and I-94) and she should be good to go. But for the facts you should check the Michigan website.

Hello;

I think a co-worker was causing her some concerns. I have checked the state of Mi. requirements, and the only thing that's needed in the form of documents, seems to be

prior divorce papers, or records, & she's never been married.

Thanks, for the input;
