If the ID purpose is for the parental consent; yes. Any government issued id for signature reference will be fine. I am 23 and they didnt ask for it though, but better prepared than sorry. Make sure to photocopy, front and back.

Yes to your question. I was just wondering, you said she's 25? I was 23 too then when I had my CFO and didn't ask me anything.

Thanks for the info . I just want to be sure she has them just in case . She will be in Manila for the medical and will do the CFO too . Then just return after the interview to finish . For some reason they both do not have ID's . Postal seems to be the faster one to get . Any suggestions for a more reliable ID ?

Will the postal ID work for the CFO for my fiancee parents id's ? At age 25 does she need them as a requirement ?

The postal IDs will work just fine. Does she need them at 25? Its a ####### shoot, the law reads 18 - 21 for consent, 21-25 or advice (very poorly written with the age overlap), but the interviewer sometimes doesn't both to ask... even though they are "required" documents with the K-1 'ers. Its one of those "better safe than sorry" things, which means carrying too many papers on the off chance CFO will ask for something.

But I believe a big part of what the interviewer as for is determined by confident and self assured your fiancée is around them

Yes to your question. I was just wondering, you said she's 25? I was 23 too then when I had my CFO and didn't ask me anything.

And you are proof of how inconsistent CFO is with what they ask for. I truly wish they would remove the "other documents" and make an exact list of what is needed, this would stop the "game playing" with many.

I don't think you'll need parental advice since you're 25. I'm the same age as yours and got there last week. They didn't ask it to me or anyone in there.

Yes, it was said here a lot if times that age 21-25 should get that, I tried getting one in the civil registrar in our town and they didn't gave me one since they said that in 25 and in the legal age already. (Parental advice is for 21-24) I still insisted but they asked me a letter from CFO that its one of the requirements but its not even listed in the website. So I wasn't able to get one.

You can try but I believe 25 years and older doesn't really need that.

CFO is not consistent with asking for the advice or consent form, some are asked some are not, its not listed on the CFO website but is covered under their "other documents"

As for age; consent is 18-21, advice is 21-25 per Executive Order 209 (6 July, 1987) , the registrar obviously was voicing opinion, not fact.

The Philippines Family Code
(July 6, 1987)

Executive Order No. 209

TITLE I. MARRIAGE

Chapter 1. Requisites of Marriage

Article 1. Marriage is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life. It is the foundation of the family and an inviolable social institution whose nature, consequences, and incidents are governed by law and not subject to stipulation, except that marriage settlements may fix the property relations during the marriage within the limits provided by this Code. (52a)

Article 5. Any male or female of the age of eighteen years or upwards not under any of the impediments mentioned in Articles 37 and 38, may contract marriage. (54a)

Article 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Article 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor. A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement. (62a)
