Trying to "dodge" CFO.. hmm, that is a very old discussion, the conclusion of most was - you could have a ticket to Singapore, Malaysia or where ever that a visa isn't required for visiting, but you wouldn't get past the Immigrations agent, the second they spot the immigrations visa to the USA without a CFO sticker in your passport you would be turned away.... not even a "to bad - so sad.

So as annoying as it is, the best solutions is complete CFO.

My fiancee parent's home was flooded last year and their IDs were lost as part of that. They never got them replace, so they don't have IDs. I guess we will be out of luck if they ask for them.

Maybe I'll send her parents to the CFO as self IDs.

CFO is going to give me a heart attack from worry at age 25 :(

Yeah, it's really a shame that it almost feels like a second embassy interview/process. One is enough lol.

I have a weird question to ask. Does this apply to my fiance to seeing as he's the one below the age of 25 and I, being the fiancee , am already 26? Or does it only apply to Filipina fiancee?

Reading CFO reviews like this make me worry. I don't have any IDs of them but I do have copies of their Form 1040, and my fiance's original birth certificate.

Basically, I will just have my fiance bring the same packet that she will be bringing to the embassy interview. All the documents, everything. Then if they ask for anything regarding me (the U.S. fiance), she will have it ready to show them. Not saying you will need most, if any, of it, but at least it will save you a trip or two if they get #######, which they have of late.

i am actually turning 25 this year. I know parental advice is the one that applies to me.

However, in previous applicants, they were asked to present a parental advice and consent (they are more than 21 y.o. already).

Aside from that, I look like a kid. Even the lawyer who notarized my affidavits was surprised and can't believe that I am already 24 and she has to look at all my ID's! LOL!!! I told her the reason why I have the consent despite my age. And she agreed to me that CFO might really ask for a consent from my parents bec I still look like a kid.. better to be prepared than sorry. I would not want to keep on going back at Quirino ave. esp now that it keeps on raining and it gets flooded at Osmena & Taft Ave! CFO Manila is a 2 hrs and 30mins travel for me..so as much as possible, I want to bring whatever I can provide to them in case they ask for it. As you know... CFO ask whatever they want if they think they have to ask 4 it in an applicant...

The way I see CFO, I see them as the embassy interview.. lol.. besides they will go first before our interview.. I was already scrutinized by the lawyer... next is CFO

Yeah, my Filipina fiance looks a lot younger than her age of 31, and thinks she even looks like a teenager. But I don't think she will be asked for parental forms and IDs once she shows her IDs and passport lol.

No problem.

I am actually having her go before we receive the NOA2 (which we anticipate to get later this summer), so she still will have everything that the embassy will take later, including the forms she needs such as the NBI and CENOMAR. We're doing this to have time in case the CFO causes issues and wants some weird #######.

I know it's frustrating but the reason behind all these "harassment" is for them (CFO) to also protect the Filipina..

yes it has the potential to be of help but I truly feel that its all for show, If their were really interested in protecting the Filipina they should start with the ones living in the Philippines, The us has many programs to protect women from domestic violence but it appears to be out of control and widespread in the Philippines leaving the wife with no hope of escape. I think they should fix there problems at home first then when they have all the solutions fix the problem in the US.

- I know, as always... the government here... we have to deal with them no matter what.

I know my checklist is A LOT and some might think it is too much.

I think your checklist is great, I wished it had been easily searchable on visajourney. I done many searches for "CFO" never found it. wished I had been better prepared.

- I haven't posted my updated checklist here on VJ just here on your thread. :)

It would be nice if we all send them a message and express our views & opinions

I would not do it until AFTER you are approved. It seems they can act and do as they please with no rules and guidelines, we have a similar organization here in the US its called the Mafia

- I understand your frustration. I'll try to talk to CFO once i get there about this.. (After they hand me my certificate) in that way, we will know why they are not listing the possible documents they might ask from us. Though it is clear that they are doing it so that they can ask whatever they want and have the applicant go back and forth to satisfy them..

My words above are harsh and I'm sure I will regret it later, but please just think of my state of mind right now as I am making this post, Just to head off any accusations ahead of time, moving here without the CFO sticker is in no way shape or form illegal immigration. I am not breaking the rules of visajourney by suggesting me or anyone else should do it. I really hope we can do things without any shortcuts but hundreds or thousands have done it in the past and im sure many more will do it in the future because a power drunk organization will never be satisfied.

I under stand your frustrations to CFO... who else don't get frustrated with them hearing some bad experience from our fellow visa applicants... I myself gets frustrated whenever I hear some bad exp.. bec I know and I can feel that somehow they will scrutinize me...but I have to deal with them.. just hoping that they will be in a nice mood during my GCP.. and hoping that you and your fiancee too will get through with this the soonest!!! Tell your fiancee to be confident when dealing with CFO.. and show to them that she knows what she is doing...Goodluck!good.gif

yes, I see your fiancee on your profile pic and I also don't think she will be asked for those forms..

And me, since I am still below 25, so instead of the advice, they might also ask for the consent...

I still fall under their "trap" lol. though they can always see my birth cert and other ID's, some people here judge the "age" of a person based on their looks without looking at the birth cert yet.. I am saying this bec this always happens to me.. even before they talk to me and ask my age, people has already a guess of my age..i am also very small.. that's y they would really think i'm a kid.. that's why i got both certs just to be ready.. u know.. lol.

Easy answer. Which one is the Philippine citizen? CFO is a Philippine requirement, not a U.S. requirement.

My wife recently had to go to this just to update her philippine passport to her married name because she is married to me. We had no trouble just brought nso marriage cert, previous ID's , paid the fee had no problem. But that was here in manila

No, just an advice letter. Consent is 18 - 21, advice is 21 - 25.

You will be fine.
