my fiance entered the US on a K1 and we are now preparing paperwork for the adjustment of status. he had the full medical at the foriegn consulate-designated medical clinic prior to the K1 interview but was told he did not need vaccinations until after he entered the US. now we are trying to get the vaccinations but we have called several doctors on the USCIS list, and they all say that they need to do the entire medical exam over again - they can't just complete the vaccination supplement. it says on the form 485 instructions that fiances can just submit the vaccination supplement, and i've read that here on VJ too, but the doctors offices say otherwise. how have others of you gotten around this?

thanks.

Bobogirl - glad to hear he's here and all went well. Do give a full report please!!!!!

I would call around to other CS - I talked to a local one where I live and he said it's no problem to just give the vaccines. You can also have them done somewhere else and have the information transferred by a CS (usually for a very small fee).

you absolutely do not need a new medical unless you are going to file your AOS papers after 16th Oct 2007.

When dealing with CS here keep on the ph and keep telling them that you do not need a new medical exam as you have already had one and it is current and correct for the USCIS paperwork.

For the vaccinations... you generally can have them done anywhere.. shop around your local doctors etc .. just make sure that you get a vaccination card with what you have had done on it... then take that to a cs and they should just transfer it onto the I693a form that you need.

There seems to be alot of problems with civil surgeons here, most just seem to want to do the whole lot and just grab some extra bucks... avoid these and just keep phoning aruond.. you will find one who will help!

good luck
