I just checked our status on our I-765 application and saw this message "On June 18, 2013, your date of birth was updated relating to your I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION."

Then I checked my copy of the ap. and sure enough there is a typo on her birthdate. Her actual birthdate is 6/16/1976 and she put 6/6/1976.

Has anybody else experienced this? and if so was it a problem? I am assuming that because it says they 'updated" her birthday they see it as a typo and corrected it. Is that true?

I would wait and see what the GC has for DOB. THAT is the document that she will carry from here on out until USC. The EAD and AP are temporary documents and in the case of my wife were never used. The only people that realy care about DOB are those that are serving adult beverages, smokes, social security benefits, AARP memberships, or other age related things. If the GC is wrong then I would make an INFOpass appointment and take her foreign passport and BC along to show the correct DOB. I am assuming that they are using her BC as the true DOB that is in her file--that is why it is one of those required documents.

Good luck,

Dave

UPDATE: today I checked our status and got this message "On June 21, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

So it appears the typo on the birthdate had no bearing.
