This is normal habit.

You need time to do the medical though, I think it takes usually 2 days to get back the results so I would give yourself 3 to make sure.

Personally, I wouldn't ever chance that, but that's my own personal opinion.

I know others have done it w/o issue at all.

I guess when you aren't by a panel physician, you don't have much choice!

In Montreal it takes 3 days minimum to get the medical back. If you do the medical on Tuesday, you get it back on Friday. I went on Monday; had medical on Tuesday; got medical back on Friday; interview on Monday.

You could also fly there, get the medical, fly back to wherever, and then fly back for the interview. Look into the costs for both. My hotel was more expensive than mailing the medical results to and another flight. But I did get a little mini vacation.

The alernative is to fly to Toronto, do the medical there, (it takes 2 days from the dr downtown) then take the train (or fly) to Montreal and do the interview.

To be honest I was worried about getting my medical results back in time. I would have either gotten them done earlier in the day or the day before. I got them around 4:30pm. ClockWatch2.gif

Eep!

See, yeah, that's too much chance for me.

Hubby's Medical is scheduled for the 26th.

Lots of time before the 17th.

Doable, but it's 3 business days minimum. Mine wasn't ready on time, so Medisys provided me with a sealed letter for the consulate. It basically says you allowed enough time but results are not ready yet. In my case, I tested false positive to something so they have to rerun a test, which is done by the province and it took like an extra 3 weeks. So you go to the interview with that letter, and instead of being accepted on the spot, you have to wait for your medical to be ready and mail it to them along with your passport (they give you an instruction sheet at your interview). Anything they receive by mail takes 2-3 to be processed so it adds up... For me, it was a total of 6 weeks delay.
