Hi,

I am confused, My husband arrived here last month on a K-3 visa. He had his medical exam for the K-3

as required. Do we have to fill out the I-693 (medical emamination) and send it with the AOS package?

Does he have to have another medical exam before we send off the AOS package even though we just

did one for the K-3 visa?

Thanks

Your husbands medical exam is valid for one year. I assume it is still valid, since he just arrived last month. you can go ahead apply for AOS, the USCIS have a copy of his medical checkup done at his country. It was sent with the packet he handcarried on his port of entry.

As long as his medical checkup is not yet expired, you don't need to have another one. When I applied for my AOS, my medical checkup was still valid.

Good luck with you AOS.

Agreed. I did my only medical in the UK and used that vaccination supplement for AOS for both myself and my son. We have now got out GC's and had no RFE's

However, having said that, some people seem to be RFE'd for a vaccination supplemnt stamped by a US surgeon general. As I understand it, the medical is valid for one year and the year is marked by the date you apply for AOS and not the date of the interview, although if anyone has a different experience I am sure they will chime in.

Good luck.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

My husband's medical was well within the one year time frame. All we needed was the I-693A which is the vaccination supplement. We found a civil surgeon who filled it out and gave Joel the tetanus shot needed all for only $50. The form was then placed in an enveloped, sealed, and stamped DO NOT OPEN all over it. This is what we submitted with his AOS.
