Hi,

while i wait for my NOA2 i want to prepare for NVC stage. i have read all posts about what is required for NVC stage how ever i am not sure what support documents that we need to send can hold expiration dates. Can i get my tax transcripts does it have a period after they are void? police reports? what else i can get before time apart from filling out the forms. Help. Thanks.

You can get everything in advance and hold off on the police report until you get case# at NVC.

No tax transcripts are your proof of tax filings so no expiration. So you can go back 4 years and get those.

Check your countries forums and see how long police reports are good for. Most just wait until case# assignment. Like me Nigeria police report is 3 months thats it.

Go here to NVC filers thread and look around and ask any kind of NVC questions you may have. Very knowledgeable people there. Read Post #1 and #2 very helpful.

Pakistani police report expire in 6 months. I would suggest waiting till you get the case number.

I would err on the side of 6 months for the police certificate, however we got 3 from 3 different cities/regions and two had expiry dates and one didn't.

even then, the latest one from Lahore was issued in October 2012, so for our interview in june 6th, we took an updated one just in case and the letter even asked for this (page 2 of the interview letter), but the embassy didn't ask for it...

best to be on the safe side tho - take everything you need and can think of - better to have it than be asked at the time of interview to go get it and be delayed - especially in ISL

Interview June 6th 2013 - APPROVED - case upgraded to IR1 at time of interview based on time married

Visa in hand June 10th 2013

IV fee paid using ELIS June 17th 2013

POE Houston July 15th 2013

GC arrived in mail Aug 12th 2013

SSN card arrived in mail Aug 19 2013 (1 week after applying)
