US Police Check

Hi,

I'm just starting to get together all the things I need to send in the package to the US Embassy in Sydney, including the police checks. I worked ski seasons in America for 7 years, sometimes I stayed for 5 month before returning to Australia, once I stayed for 8 months and once 10 months. I'm assuming I need an American police check as well as an Australian one?

Conveniently I'm in America at the moment for a 2 month visit so could organise the police check here, but can anyone advise on how to do that? Can I just go down to the local police station or do I need to contact the FBI? Google has been confusing me.

Really? The other forum posts I was reading were saying that the 12 months living in a different country didn't have to be consecutive. I'd be very happy if you're right, just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

You need it from all countries you lived in, except for US.

I guess FBI did check you anyway based on the personal info in I-129F petition.

You do not need US, any other country you are required if you stayed over a year.

US they already have it.
