I need you help !!

My NOA1 date is 12/05/2012 MSC receipt number. My case was transferred to the local field office on 01/30/2013. It was assigned to a case worker on 05/06/2013. I was told my has actually been worked on since last wee. My question is how long after my caase has been touched will i hear something??? I can imagine that what they are doing is the background checks. Anyone Has an answer for me???

It is impossible to guess what is on the adjudicator's desk or what their workload is

they supposedly take about 30 minutes to review a file

you should be hearing any day now, if you are really interested in the exact status of your petition, take an infopass

It's okay, I know it sounds little weird. I means that my case is actually in someones hands and being worked on.

Well I called and spoke with a tier 2 CS rep and he was actually helpful and nice. Most of the time they don't give you this information. I suggest you give it a try, ask them when your case was transferred, ask if it has been assigned and if they have already clocked in on your case.

You can also know when your case file is "touched" in your case portfolio online. If you sign up and register your case to receive updates. When you log-in into your case, click on the portfolio section. The last "touch" will be the date under that case update. Good luck!

Thank you, we have registered now... slightly depressing to see that they haven't looked at our case since NOA1, but it will only be a matter of time... Will continue to wait "patiently"! (ie checking the uscis website several hundred times a day!)

DO NOT CANCEL YOUR INFOPASS

your NOA2 will state it has been mailed to NVC

many members here are experiencing a long wait until it gets to the NVC.... why.. because the local offices are sitting on them and batching them out.. some have taken almost three months, mine took seven weeks

I only found out that it was at the local office with an infopass

it was ONLY with this confirmation that I was able to place a service request before 90 days with uscis

it was due to the fact that I confirmed the location that I could be as relentless with people as I was, instead of having to sit back and wonder if it was lost or where is it

I think we will probably wait a bit (we only got NOA1 on 18th April) and seems there are a lot of people ahead of us in the queue! The VJ timeline says we should expect NOA2 in August, and sadly think that's probably true! Thanks for the help though
