I have a question about the wording from the embassy on when to do the medical exam.

It says, "You must go to the designated panel physician to have your examination at least two weeks before your visa interview appointment date."

Now, can someone please tell me, after we schedule our interview date with the embassy, does this mean we must go to the medical 2 weeks WITHIN the date of the interview?? OR, could we have the medical exam, for example, 3 or 4 weeks before?

Let's say for example in two weeks from today is my interview date at the embassy. Would I have to have the medical exam in the next two weeks...OR, should i have already finished the exam by this date?

Thanks for anyones help!

that's weird - we have prior reports of folk getting the exam done the week before the interview

or

even the same week of the interview

here at VJ.

it doesn't really matter as long as the doctor will perform the eval and the results are still valid at the time of POE.. it varies by country

the hospital designated by guz will not do a medical exam if you dont have a nvc # and nvc letter requesting your medical.

once you have that letter, you can do it any time!

06/28/12 - NOA2 announced on status check.

06/29/12 - NVC received case learned on 07/2/12.

07/16/12 - Receive and Sent DS-3032 via email.

07/17/12 - Mailed DS-3032 via mail, AOS bill received via email, paid online, Optin email sent.

07/18/12 - Optin accepted and new case number, AOS marked paid, emailed AOS packet.

07/24/12 - Assigned as Agent, IV Fee bill received via email, paid online.

I can verify that, even though our letter also said get the medical two weeks before the interview, it wasn't an issue to do the interview sooner than two full weeks. I don't know why they put that in there, but we took the first available interview slot, which was less than two weeks after we got the packet, and had no issues with the medical. Good luck.

once you have that letter, you can do it any time!

Can the medical exam be performed two days before the interview? One day before? Going a week or more before means having to take two separate trips to Guangzhou, which seems pretty inconvenient.
