I'm a Canadian Citizen And I was Fingerprinted at the border during my previous visit. I've heard that Canadians are usually exempt from being fingerprinted at the border. Any reason I was? Do they usually fingerprint / photograph most canadians? Any help on your guys experience would help! Thanks!

Non Madame/monsieur , a lot of things matters and every case is unique.yes, being a canadian, one is at low risk of getting denied but however no one can guarantee.your frequency of visit ,purpose , ties to your country example job status , marital status are few things they consider sometime.

Were any of them denied or given a redflag because of it? Just wondering.

My husband was red flagged upon first visit and is subject to secondary for 5 years from that first entry now.

He's done nothing wrong and has no criminal record.

Every time I enter the us I have to provide 6 months of bank statements, bills, pay stubs (as well as a letter from my employer), tax info, etc... They just want proof that I have intent to return to Canada.

Have you ever overstayed on a visit? Even a day is huge for border agents. Do you have strong ties to Canada? Those are the only things I can think of. Sorry to not be of more help :(

I hope I have an easy entry tomorrow (I get to see my main squeeze again!!!)

How often do you visit? During your visits, how long do you stay? Those seem to be issues with border agents, so that could be a reason too.

I've only visited once before. I went for 3 weeks. Are you and your husband engaged or married? They didn't tell me I required certain information for my next visit or anything. Just me go on through.

Can you explain what they asked for when you got pulled into secondary?

They don't just pull you in, fingerprint you and send you on your way.

OP was never hyped up about anything, just inquiring about if it was normal to be finger printed.
