So anyways, I am a K1-Fiance visa applicant. I have already scheduled my interview date, but have yet to receive the appointment letter from USEM.

I called the Embassy and was informed that they only have the electronic notice and was advised to just keep on calling back to check.

So what happens if the interview date comes and I still don't have the appointment letter? Also can I get the medical at SLEC and do the CFO seminar without the said letter?

LETTER FROM NVC WITH MANILA NUMBER

When you get the letter from NVC stating the MNL # , scan and email a copy to your fiancee to bring to St. Luke's

(NOTE: When getting NSO certified copies of your Birth Certificate get a few extra copies for bringing to the States with you. You will need them from time to time)

You can pay your nonimmigrant visa application fee with cash or debit card at any Bank of Philippine Islands. Before going to the bank, you must print the applicable U.S. visa application deposit slip available below on this page. Take the printed deposit slip with you to pay your fee. If you print a deposit slip in advance of the day in which you plan to make your payment, please take note of the expiration date on the deposit slip. If the expiration date passes prior to using the slip to make your payment, simply return to this site and re-click the appropriate link below to generate a new deposit slip. Bank agents will NOT accept payments based on expired deposit slips. Upon receiving of your payment, bank will issue you a receipt. Save your receipt. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. For K-1 the fee is $240

Receipt Format

Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was received. You will not find the priority date entered on the NOA2, you will only find it on the email/letter from NVC when you get your MNL #.

Update: Please check the schedule of the counseling session before proceeding to CFO because it is country-specific and the slots are limited only to 15 per session (two sessions per day) for Manila and 12 per session (only one session a day) for Cebu. It is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: originals & copies of; CENOMAR (CEMAR and marriage certificate if married), certified birth certificate. Passport and copies of bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together. From USC (copies of) - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common requests. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought,together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.

Hello Hank, this is Adam. So my fiance and I are just alittle bit confused. Here is the situation. The embassy has our electronic notification. I called them yesturday and they said they did not have the physical packet yet. They advised us not to schedule an appt. my fiance sched one anyways. But here is the question-DOES SHE NEED TO HAVE THE EMBASSY LETTER WITH HER WHEN SHE GOES TO THE INTERVIEW? I thought that the embassy was going to send her a packet with info that she needed to bring there. I appreciate all your help in this manner. Please advice. If she does not get a package from the embassy, should she still procede with the interview?

or if u called the embassy and scheduled over the phone, they will email the letter then u will just print it out..

The "Appointment Letter" is important when going to the interview. it's like the "gate pass".

So the beneficiary needs to bring that along with the other required documents (listed on the instruction letter) during the interview .

St. Lukes also requires the appointment letter and the NVC letter (but for some, they went to St. Lukes Ext clinic even if they don't have the appointment letter yet bec they didn't schedule for the interview yet, or, for some, they go to SLEC withouth the NVC letter. some goes to SLEC with their MNL case number... but if u had scheduled the interview already, then just print out the confirmation page or the appointment letter then bring it to SLEC. if you already have the NVC letter that shows the MNL case number, you may scan that and have ur fiancee print it out then bring it to SLEC as well)

Sorry i got appointment letter and instruction letter mixed up!! Ok so the appointment letter I have, just need to print it out. I guess what I was trying to ask originally is, do I need the INSTRUCTION letter (from the embassy, the packet) to be able to do the interview? And the medical as well? Because until now I haven't gotten a packet or instuction letter from the embassy even though we got the confirmation from NVC a month ago.
