So, my wife and I are in the process of applying for a CR-1 visa. I've posted on here once before, but our situation is that I've been teaching English in Russia for two years and we dated/lived together during that time and got married in March.

We'd like to continue living together during our application process, but I don't want to continue living in Russia. Is it possible to move to a different country, say Mexico, and live there while the process continues? My father is providing an Affidavit of Support.

Do I absolutely need to be living in the US while this happens? Does she need to be living in Russia? If so, that kind of sucks.

Thanks!

Yes, you can move. How far along in the process are you? Have you sent in the I-130 yet?

If you already sent in the I-130 then you just need to notify USCIS of the resident change. If you haven't sent in anything, moving to a different country doesn't matter at all.

I'm mexican and I live with my husband (US citizen) in Spain, and we haven't had any problems.

I'm the beneficiary.
