Father requested for adult son Aug. 2007??

My fiancé's father requested him back in 2007 (from the Dominican Republic) and they have been waiting on his vida ever since. Since then, I have petitioned for him to come to the US so we can get married. I've been waiting since Oct. 2012 and just recently received an RFE so I'm wondering if maybe I'm better off just waiting for his father's visa (I'm thinking it might turn up faster than mine at this rate). Any advice??

If the father filed for him in 2007 he still has about a year and half to go. If he has to do a DNA it will drag out the process more.

If you respond to the RFE and ensure that there are no more mistakes and have everything ready when it is needed he may be with you in about six months.

Unless you want to save some money I think you should press on with what you are doing.

Petitioner LPR upgraded to USC June 22, 2012
August 22, 2012: case complete
October 18, 2012: Interview (APPROVED)
October 26, 2012: Picked up visa from DHL (delay caused by Sandy)
December 15, 2012: POE Atlanta....................became USC July 2016!!!!

Mothers' Journey (My sister is the petitioner)

September 10, 2013: Sent I-130 (UPS next day service)

September 12, 2013: Received text to confirm delivery

September 16, 2013: Received NOA 1

March 22, 2014: Received NOA 2

April 8, 2014: File Received by NVC

May 26, 2015: Interview (approved)..........now LPR (delays caused by 2 RFE)
