Hi all, I am very confused here is my issue...

My husband had his interview 3/25/13 at cario embassy the CO told him that everything looks good took his fingerprints, paid dhl fee and CO took his passport....CO told him that no addtional docs are needed that they have everything they need and to check online in 3 weeks....

I checked online and my husband is in AP???? Why??? Shouldnt the CO have advised him that he was going to AP??? Why would they take his passport if they are sending the file to AP?? I am very confused someone please give me some feedback...

Sounds like mandatory AP or necessary AP, which may not take a long time. Did you call DOS and ask what is going on with your case? No 221(g) form issued to your husband right? Any updates on your case?

I emailed the embassy asking the status and they replied and said mandatory AP. I also called DOS and they tell me it shows no documents are required but it is still undergoing AP... I am very confused?? What is mandatory AP?? How long does this usually take

AP can take from a few weeks to a few years. Each case is different.
