NOA2 Approved!!! Can you help clear a couple things please?

Hello everyone!

Our NOA2 was approved May 10th, 2013!!!!!! YAY!! I have looked through the info that has been posted on here and I am still a little confused as to what to be doing RIGHT NOW. Is there something I should be doing while it's on it's way to the NVC?

I'm concerned about anything they might be mailing him because the mail system is horrible in the Dominican. I thought I read somewhere that he can get his info through email, rather than mail. Is this true? Or are they even going to send him anything?

I read that in the Dominican they should wait until 30 days prior to the interview to get their police report. Anyone know anything different? He has lived in a few different cities since the age of 18, does he have to go to each city to get one or does he have to go to Santo Domingo and it will cover everywhere?

Anything else I should be doing NOW while waiting to get something from the NVC or is it just a waiting game at this point? I thought I read to call NVC after a week to get a # but I wasn't sure the reason for this.

I appreciate any input you can offer....I know these answers are probably already on here, but I have looked and these are the things that are not clear to me at this point after the research I have been doing. My head is spinning at the moment from everywhere I have been looking for these answers.

Once the case is at NVC you can call them to update all your info and his info. You can even do this with your USCIS number as long as they have your case in the system. The first form he has to fill out is form 3032 which is the choice of agent. Here he can give them the ok to send you any info regarding the case. You have to wait for the case number from NVC before he emails it to them because the case number has to be on it. They will email a copy of the form with a barcode but it is not necessary to wait as long as the case number is on it. This will save you some time. Then it has to be emailed from his email address (you can do this for him as long as you are signed in to his email. Very important that the document be sent as a PDF). Once that is processed they will send you the email to pay the AOS fee of $88. Once that is marked as paid you can submit the affidavit with all the necessary documents. I would suggest you begin getting all that ready. Then you will get the email to pay the IV fee of $230. Once that is marked paid you can submit the form DS 230 along with all those supporting documents. To save you time in the future I suggest you get that ready as well. That way you can mail it out faster. Good luck to you and your hubby.

Where do I get 3032 form that he will email? I assume he prints, fills it out and signs it? Where do I email this form?

Is the affidavit you are referring to the affidavit of support (I-864)? This is what's next after paying the $88?

Is the ds 230 form coming with the packet the nvc sends or do I get the form online?

You can send the ds3032 via email to

NVCInquiry@state.gov once u get the NVC # do not waste no time .

When your case is ready to pay the fees they will inform you via email .

Get your ppwrk together the applications u can download from online its EZ

Fyi : create a email account for the beneficiary so that you can have control of all the documents that they will send via email to the beneficiary.

All mail from the U.S. Department of State concerning my immigrant visa should be sent to the address above.

If you want to obtain a copy of any of the forms you can google it and find a blank copy of it online. Some of the forms actually let you fill them out online if your computer has adobe and then print them out. Like YA 1127 wrote the form 3032 is emailed to nvcinquiry@state.gov. Remember to include your case number, beneficiary name and date of birth and petitioner name and date of birth in the body of them email. On the subject line always include the case number and attach the form as a PDF. Keep calling NVC until you get a case number because the case number must be on the form. All of the forms will eventually be emailed to you but in an effort to same time you can obtain all these forms on your own and have them filled out and ready before they are requested. Believe me it'll save you so much time. And yes the affidavit of support gets sent after you pay the $88. You will receive the email to pay that after they receive form 3032. You also have to see if you can fill out the shorter form of I-864EZ. This was the one I filled out because I qualified for that one. If you are not using a co-sponsor and are petitioning for only one person and are using only your income earned in the affidavit of support then this is form you would use. All of these forms come with instructions that you should carefully read if filling them out on your own. Make sure you read everything carefully and as many times as possible to avoid any mistakes. If you need to call NVC with any questions because any mistake may make your case take longer for approval. Hope this helps ;-)
