So just to be completely clear; she DOES NOT need the vaccination shots EVEN with the Manila embassy

in order to get the visa and to ENTER the USA?

The law says she does not need them until AOS in the US.

Whether or not Manila follows the law is a different story - apparently the Canadian consulate requires them for visa issuance even though the law clearly states they are not necessary for the K1.

You need input for others who have received their K1s in Manila to know for sure.

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

i think it's optional cos my co-teacher didnt have these "stuffs"...if ur planning to have a baby then she dont need vaccinations (as what i remember,no baby within 3 months after vaccination), she can have it when she reaches ur place after the baby.

but rather have these if u dnt plan yet to have a baby, cos you have paid for these, this is also for the benefit of ur fiancee..

MMR vaccine should not be given during the the first 3 months of pregnancy, or within 28 days before becoming pregnant. This is because the MMR vaccine contains attenuated live Rubela virus which has the potential of harming the baby, though this has not been known to happen yet.

On the other hand, a full blown Rubella infection in a pregant woman is very likely to cause serious birth defects.

I just got this from the example packet for a K1 from the Manila US Embassy site...
“K” visa applicants, as non immigrant visa applicants, are technically not subject to the vaccination requirement.

“K” visa applicants who refuse to comply with the vaccination requirement will not be denied a visa on that

basis. As a matter of expediency, however, it is encouraged that “K” visa applicants meet the vaccination

requirement before they are admitted into the U.S.

I am assuming you are going for a K1 visa...

K1 visas are considered non-immigrant visas... the line you are referring to says

U.S. immigration law requires that ALL intending immigrants be vaccinated against certain vaccine-preventable diseases before they can be admitted to the United States for permanent residence.

they do suggest you get the vaccinations before you enter the US with a K1 visa but it is not a requirement for K1 visas

I got this info straight from the Manila website...

As previously posted, the packet 4 mailed to K1 applicants at Manila embassy does NOT require vaccinations for approval, but urges the beneficiaries to get them since they are required for AOS.
