Was the Service Request a BIG Mistake??

On 4/29 I went to an infopass appointment at my local office. Like on the phone, I was offered no more information than usual..."it's in process". My biggest thing all along has been that I've never been able to check my statues since my receipt number isn't found in the system. So the lady that helped me that day went ahead and put in a service request to see if something could be done about my number and to get and update on my case. I finally received the hard copy of the response in the mail...which is the only way I can get my updates unless I wait on hold for 26 hours. "Your petition for Alien Fiancé (Form I129-F) is presently with an officer. Please allow a minimum of 60 days for this office to review your petition."

A MINIMUM OF 60 DAYS???? Did I just screw myself??? Did I just add 2 months to my 6 month wait?????? Ooohhhhheeeemmmmmmggggggeeeeeee!!!!!!!! What did I do!? Please!! Someone! Tell me I didn't just add 2 months to my processing time! Aaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

No, the wait 60 days thing is a pretty standard response. Your petition will likely be processed soon like in the next couple weeks as VSC appears to be in the middle of processing October petitions right now if you go based upon igors list.

Exactly. They have a standard form they use when sending out these types of updates. Technically it could take up to 60 days - which they say to keep people from calling too often - but it most likely will not be long now.

Best of luck! star_smile.gif

Well that's definitely comforting to read! Thank you guys!

I called and spoke to a tier-2 rep at USCIS. I kindly stated that my receipt number doesn't work in the system, so I'm just calling to see if there has been any update on my case. The guy spoke to me as if I was so stupid! He said "you called to check last Friday as well." I said, "Yes, but you say that as if my status cannot change from one day to the next!?" THAT ### TOLD ME "it clearly states that it will now take 60 days to process and you are calling after 4 business days". ggguuuhhh....what a jerk!
