Okay. I just got married and our marriage license was notarized. I brought it to the court office where we got the marriage license to register. The clerk stamped it as a certified true copy. I want to make sure I got everything correctly. Is this the marriage certificate now?

talk to your county clerk..

they are the ones the register it in the county on record .. in fact you should be able to check online.. ALSO..

you will need a certified COPY>. NOT your Original for the AOS..

Hi Skiptex, thanks! I specifically asked if Ill be getting a certificate.. the clerk said it is the certificate. She juat basically removed the other info on the lower part of the marriage license like the previos marriages/divorce and put a stamp on it. Thats it. I requested for 4 extra copies with stamp just to make sure.

So basically... this marriage license....turned certificate is the one that I will submit with my AOS packet?

I appreciate all your response. Thanks. Im just really confuse now because Im getting different answers.
