I got an email from NVC today and they scheduled my parents interview on June 6. They had their medical exam a week ago and have to undergo the 8-week sputum culture due on June 25. Will I reschedule the interview appointment or SLEC will do this? What should I do? Pls help. Thanks

I'm not particular with rescheduling process for other category besides K1 but don't rely on SLEC, they've promised Mike that they'll take care of rescheduling but that didn't happen.

Good luck!

In the interest of public safety, visa appointments of applicants who are required to complete a sputum smear exam at St. Lukes are scheduled at a later date when the results of the sputum smear and culture are available. The applicant need not contact the Embassys Immigrant Visa Unit to request rescheduling of the visa appointment. As soon as the sputum test and culture have been completed and our panel physicians have cleared the applicant for travel, St. Lukes will advise the applicant regarding the interview scheduling.

I'm still waiting for a case complete at NVC. Next week my parents will do the sputum test. Once I get our interview date, I plan of calling the SLEC to inform them about the interview date so they can re-schedule it. You might want to contact SLEC and tell them about it. Let me know how it goes. Thanks...

Hi Aki,

Mom called SLEC yesterday and was told they already notified USEM about the pending medical exam. They will reschedule the interview when they are done with the immunization.
