Hi guys, My fiance requested a letter from her employer for the Affidavit of support, now she is a Registered Nurse and working in a hospital in the New York area and has only been employed for 2 months. The letter from her employer actually came from a third party company which deals with giving them upon request, but the thing is it only states her hourly wage of $28ph and that she is employed in full-time employment but the letter does NOT mention an annual salary.

Will that be an issue?

We have all her pay slips (5) and her tax transcripts for 2010, 2011, 2012 but she only earn't $10k per year as she was in college.

My question is, is the $28ph enough proof of earning enough? (which works out to be around $53k per annum)

first of all you dont go to your employer to ask for affidavit of support, you only ask from them some documents as a proof of employment in which they have supplied...the pay stub/slips and documents from the employer will be your biggest proof on the affidavit of support, what she earns now(payslip) will be much considered than the past income tax just be prepare to inform that on your interview about her past and present employment... good luck!
