Mother's petition's requirements

I filed for mom, did she have to prepare her marriage certificate or death certificate for her husband? Her husband (my dad) died 11 years ago.

what are the requirements does the embassy in Manila require for my mom's interview and medical so that she can prepare early?

what's next? or what should we expect next from the USCIS? what should I prepare in advance as a petitioner? it's been almost 2 months that I did not hear from the USCIS.

How long does it take for her to come in the US? USCIS says that the papers are forwarded to the NVC, what does it mean? does it mean that the petition was approved or not yet? Did not said on the letter that was approved, it just says that it was forwarded.

Thanks!!!

For requirements for the embassy interview, look here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Packet%204%20_appointment%20packet_%20English%20rtf%20_revised%20GSS_%20_2_%20rtf2_rtf__docx2_001.pdf

As a USC petitioner, you should prepare the financial support form (I-864).

Click on the NVC flowchart on the guides section for the process flow.

Good luck!

You will eventually need both marriage and death certificate before she's approved. They will ask you at one part of the process (no hard rule for which agency will ask). So get those ready to send in at the time needed. It might be the interview itself when they ask for those documents.

You will likely need to submit the originals. USCIS asked for copies but NVC needed originals. You should obtain the originals in case they are needed, but if they are not, the beneficiary needs to bring them to the interview. Ignore my advice if you don't mind delays.
