I know that the consulates don't allow phones in and I was hoping my husband could call me after he left his interview. Just looking to see what others did with their phones if they traveled far. Do they allow you to leave your phone with security and retrieve it on the way out? Any place near the consulate where he can leave his phone that's trustworthy?

might as well search for other users with the same embassy and pm them.. every embassy scenario is different, some will hold your phones, other places have a store close by that will hold things

They let Mohammed put his personal things in a bin, including cell phone. The Moroccan lady who takes the 864 form actually told him to retrieve his phone and call me right there as she said I was missing a form which wasn't true, so he called me right in front of her and took care of business. Then, during interview, the CO asked for my cell phone number, mohammed said well I don't remember it by heart, so he asked for Mohammed's cell phone again, looked for my number, then later called me for a personal phone interview.

Can I ask you if that is a common thing for the CO to call the U.S. petitioner (you) for a personal phone interview too? Did they call you when your husband at his interview? I wonder if I can wait in the lobby while my husband gets his interview?

Unsure if it's common in Moocco as I haven't heard of many speaking about it. Yes, my fiance at the time was being interviewed, told to sit down and the CO called me. The CO called me around 8:30 a.m. at my job. We spoke about thirty minutes. After I gave every detail from the day we met online and all details in between the year and half, he said everything looks great and I will give your fiancé the good news. I can't tell you how wonderful it felt to be heard to the CO, I wish all USC had the opportunity to be interviewed as well.

Usually, you have to wait outside near the embassy or at the coffee house nearby.

Great thanks for the info. I'm trying to convince my husband to bring his phone and just leave it with security but he's concerned about doing anything that would make a problem. I'll let him know that he should bring it just in case they need to call me :) Wish they would!!! I don't know my husbands cell phone number by heart either, with the use of cell phones storing contacts, can't say I know too many peoples numbers by heart anymore!!

From what I have seen on here...foreverwaiting was a rare situation of consular requesting beneficiary to call the U.S.C. in America

and

When we were at the Consulate in CASA.... they make you check your items at the security machine into individual bins/shelves behind the security men standing there. They take the gum, cigarettes, cell phones etc... But if u ask me, if he is more comfortable not having extra things to deal with at the interview, let him make the choice. He will have ENOUGH to think about. :)

Ismail&Blair ~ there is no LOBBY in the consulate.

I'm with you there...he certainly will have enough to think about. The only good thing out of this is he has his first experience to go by, so he knows at least how things are done. I just want him to be able to call me fast !! I'm going to be a nervous wreck just waiting to hear from him. I'm also sure its nothing compared to the way he will feel that day, keep your fingers crossed for us!!

They just had us put our phones in the bin and locked it up behind the security station. It wan't an issue at all leaving it there. Once he is finished he can pick it up and walk outside for the grand phone call you deserve to hear! I am thinking about you both and pray it is the positive call you want and we all dream of. I am counting the days as much as you are its not to far now and time is flying!:D
