Hi,

As part of the visa requirement for K1 application, I need to submit my birth certificate. The birth certificate in my country just has the name of my father on it and doesn't have the name of my mother - which is the requirement on the instructions.

What can I do?

Thanks

Ayesha

I am an Indian citizen living in New Zealand. My birth certificate did not have my name and only half of my mother's name. I got sworn affidavits executed by both my parents --containing all the details of my birth--my name, date, month, year of birth-, place of birth, names of both the parents. The consulate accepted it. Check with your consulate

Also please check this thread --and type in the name of the country where ever you are. It will give you what to do in case of any missing information in birth certificates.

Check the heading DOCUMENTS-BIRTH CERTIFICATES
