Hi everyone,

I'm just beginning the process of compiling the needed proofs and filing out the forms for the I-129F inital mail in for my lovely future husband and myself.

I know at some point they ask me to sponser him and show proofs of income and all this. I know I'm not going to meet the income guidelines. I may have co-sponsers in my family. I know they will not meet the income guidelines either, but they do have some assets that may help. Also I've been trying to track down information. I have read that he can be his own sponser too if he has enough assets. So... here are my many questions, sorry for being long winded...

1 - At what point in the process do they ask me to provide financial proofs/be a sponser/etc?

2 - Can I have more than 1 co-sponser?

3 - Can he be his own co-sponser? (or one of the co-sponsers?)

4 - Do you (the applicant) and the co-sponser(s) need to all meet the income guidelines on your own, or can you add up - accumulate (eg. your income + his assets + another co-sponser = enough?)

Thanks so much in advance, this is really weighing on my mind right now.

1. For a K1 fiance visa, it's at interview or very shortly before it.

2. No

3. Not normally. A few US embassies are very relaxed and will allow a K1 to co-sponsor himself with assets. In most cases though, said assets would need to be in the USC's name, or possibly joint, and be US based.

4. A co-sponsor needs to be able to cover the new immigrant. If you need to reach like that, a denial is likely.
