Thanks for a great post.

I just got NOA2 and asked my fiancée to get one copy of her NSO birth certificate and CENOMAR. Does she really need multiple NSO copies of the birth cert and CENOMAR...or will photocopies suffice for CFO and St. Lukes? I fully understand the Embassy will need an original NSO copy.

Follow the information in my link.

As for multiple NSO BC & CENOMAR, St Luke's doesn't want any, CFO will want to see an original but will keep copies. I believe a few extra copies of the NSO BC are good to bring with to the States.

Embassy will want original of the NSO and NBI documents.

I would suggest that your fiancee secure three copies of NSO Birth Cert. 1 for the embassy and keep the other two for future references especially when you apply for AOS. With regard to CENOMAR, it is only valid for 6 months so better get one copy of it 1-2 weeks before the interview day. CFO and St Lukes doesn't require those two documents.

I just had my medical exams last June10-11 - the requirements are:

A. Passport

B. 1 Photocopy of your passport (the part wherein your photo and biographic information shows)

C. 2 photocopies of Appointment Letter / NVC Letter with the MNL Case number ( If you don’t have this, ask your fiance to scan his hard copy mail from NVC and send it to you through email. Print 2 copies of it).

D. 3pcs 2×2 photo with white background both ears are visible (write your full name and signature at the back of each photos)

E. 2 photocopies of your online registration through http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/index.php (this serves as your Patient Data Sheet).

G. Payment for Medical Fee of Php 9,366.00

for CFO:

Requirements for Attendance to Guidance and Counseling Program

Two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with photograph;

Duly completed guidance and counseling form;

If married, original and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office, or Local Civil Registry Offices; or original and photocopy of marriage contract duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/ Consulate (if married abroad)

Yup NVC is in New Hampshire.

You were only approved on the 13th, its take time for USCIS to bundle up your petition (and many others) to send to NVC. Be patient.

After NVC has your petition it could take another week - 10 days before getting your MNL #

You could complete your CFO while waiting...

My fiancee is scheduled for her Embassy interview July 1st in Manila. My concern is that they tell you to complete the medical exam a week before the interview. Because she is on her monthly period now...she may not be able to begin her medical exam until 3 business days before her scheduled interview (they cannot complete the medical until her period is finished). I don't suspect this will be a problem...but if someone has info on this...let me know.

We received our NOA2 on 6/13/13...from what I am reading, I can call the NVC to get our MNL case number eventually and do not have to wait for an official notification from the Manila Embassy....How long should I wait to start making that phone call based on current processing times ??

Once I have the MNL case number....can I then have my fiancé pay the application fee.....once that is done, can we start working on an interview appointment date.....??

Can my fiancé get her CFO done at any time before the interview or do we again have to wait for the MNL case number...??

We got our NOA2 on June 13 too. I called NVC last night and they didn't recieve it yet. The guy said give it 15 business days. I'm going to call again next week. Hanks guide says 7-10 days before calling, so I called a day early.

Once you have MNL# and pay application fee you can schedule interview. I'm not sure that MNL# is required to pay the fee, but I think it expires so its best to wait til you have the MNL#.

CFO can be taken anytime after NOA1. They will issue you a certificate and you have to return for the sticker after you have the visa in your passport. No sticker, no fly.

Well Vermont is closer to New Hampshire than California is, so it should get there faster from VSC haha. But, we were actually one of the cases transferred to Texas Service Center last month. So, our case is coming from Texas.

When you get to the 3rd floor, You'd be asked to fill up an Information Sheet. (Yes, you have to fill it up there, It's not the downloadable one on the CFO website.) Make sure you answer ALL questions/fields. Rendering this incomplete will be one of their criterias for you to be "HELD/ON HOLD" for one on one counseling.

- Contact person in the Philippines, specifically immediate family as in Father, Mother, Siblings. (I forgot what happened to the other one who listed her cousin. I think she was asked for her cousin's birth certificate. Which got her on "Hold" status.)

- Landline Number of Petitioner. (I know, I know, most of you guys don't use landlines now. That's what was running through my mind too.) If no landline is available, Landline of Petitioner's Nearest Relative or Petitioner's Neighbor. (IKR!? Neighbor?)

- Petitioner's Educational Attainment, Degree/Course, Occupation

- Information on Petitioner's Divorce/Annulment/Death of previous wife or husband. You must have a copy of the Divorce Decree. (One lady was asked to show the Death Certificate of the petitioner's previous wife.)

- ZIPCODES. Yes, people were given a few minutes to find out their Zipcodes. Both the petitioner and the beneficiary. Never forget to write those.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent. (Some are posted on VJ that they were not asked for this, yet others have been asked, so be prepared)

My fiancée will do her CFO Guidance and Counseling session in Cebu, but intends to get her CFO sticker/stamp in Manila.

So, two silly questions here:

1. I assume there should be no issue doing the counseling in one location...while receiving the CFO sticker in a different location?

2. After the counseling is passed in Cebu, can Manila add additional document requirements before awarding the CFO sticker? What I mean here is if a Guidance and Counseling certificate from Cebu will prevent Manila from trying to open a new can of worms by requesting additional documents that were not required in Cebu? (Note: It is understood that the clearly stated requirements for the CFO sticker must be met under all circumstances)
