Hey Everyone,

Finally, just TODAY (!) my Jamaican friend got an interview date.

Holy #######. We were approved Jan. 22. We got the I-797 the first

week of February. We waited, waited, waited. Nothing. Lucky

for us, we from the start had someone from Congressional delegation

watching this thing from the beginning. She contacted the necessary

people, and found out they had "lost" it. Holy #######. So they after

another few weeks, sent us an I-797C. "After review, we have reopened

the above application or petition or reconsidered the decision previously

issued. You will receive a notice under separate cover once all action has been completed."

Are you kidding me? You are kidding me, right?

We got that on Feb. 26.

The only "good" part about that is they extended our time by one month.

The next day, I get another I-797 (NOA).

So then weeks go by, and I ask my friend if she got the packet. Always no.

That's where our friend from the Congressional Delegation helped us again.

She's been in contact with the NVC, and the USA Embassy in Kingston on

almost a daily basis.

We don't know what we'd be doing right now if it weren't for her.

So today, from work, I decided to e-mail her, see if she's heard

anything from the Embassy. (We sent them the DS-230. They said if they

get that, they can schedule an interview,)

She told me to call her.

Just this morning the Embassy e-mailed me.

Her interview is May 31.

She and I were just about to give up hope. Nothing takes this long.

My fiancee and I are going to do something nice for that lady from

the Senator's office. She's been like a guardian angel to us.

HOLY #######.

I'd like to hear what everyone thinks of that story.

Thanks.

Darnell, you've seen that stuff I wrote about before? Where they actually lose

the paperwork, find it, extend our time? No packet, packet. I find it

totally extraordinary.
