Hi there, long time lurker. Me and my partner have completed all the K1 paperwork, and I'm going to post it off anyday now.

However before I do, I have a question about expediating.

A bit of background, I'll try be brief, my mother suffered a severed heart attack loosing alot of the function of her heart, over 50% and she can't have anymore bypasses, also has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer, her situation is terminal. So currently I work and a carer for my mother, and my younger sibling. To compound the situation, as if it could be made worse, my grandparent who is a widower like my mother, has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, diagnosed by her walking/falling thru a neighbours glass window and staying in their house without recollection while they were away for two days, also she has been found out in the cold. SO now I'm having to split my time between, work and caring for my mum and grandparent and becoming alot harder and untenable.

My fiance is british, and his company would allow him to work in America from a distance. I'd like to get him over asap, so he can help me support with caring for both my mum and gran, while bringing some money into the household. They both love him and think he great.

So thats the situation.

I've had a look at the USCIS website for the criteria where one can expediate, and I would think it falls under one of the first three:

  • Severe financial loss to company or individual
  • Extreme emergent situation
  • Humanitarian situation

Although I doubt it's the last. Depends how they define humanitarian.

So, what do you think would be the best method to apply as - I'm thinking 'Extreme emergent situation' fits the best, but the criteria on the USCIS is very vague.

AND lastly, should I append a sheet to the back of my application pack, requesting expedation with the full details outlined, or wait to it reaches the service center then phone them?

Sorry for such downer of a first post :/

Sorry for your troubles, but I don't think that's going to fly. As the USC, YOU are the one that has to show you can support HIM. However much he makes, or is able to make, has nothing to do with it.
