Hi,

I am trying to get a re-entry permit(I-131). In the last 5 years I have stayed outside the country more than 4 years on and off. I want to get the 2-year permit but instruction of I-131 states that if I have stayed more than 4 years in the last 5 years the re-entry permit will be only valid for one year. Is that true or will I get a 2-year permit?

Thank you

I'm kind of confused from reading your prior posts. You are an LPR? so you need a re-entry permit but you filed for your mother to immigrate?

Most likely any request for a re-entry permit will be denied but you are welcome to give it a shot. I'm really surprised you haven't lost your green card yet as it is for living inside the US not just visiting, which is what it appears you have been doing.

Good luck with this.
