I have been scheduled for an immigration interview on 26 th April along with my family. ( Attachment) . However, I am in the United States pursuing my MBA at Purdue University on an F-1 visa. My family was able to complete a medical examination and submitted the document which upon receipt enquired for my details. Since I am not present in India, I wanted to ask a few things :

1. Is it possible for me to take the medical examination in the United States to a registered civil surgeon in lieu for a medical exam in India

2. Is it absolutely essential for me to present during the interview or can I request an alternate appointment here in the United states. I ask this question since I would be taking my exams in that week and will be gone for internship after that week.

3. Can I return immediately to the United States after my visa interview. Do you foresee any problems that may result in a conflict with my existing visa status. Returning immediately after my visa interview is extremely essential for me.

Thank you and I look forward to your cooperation in this regard

A bit about myself

My mother is a primary beneficiary and I am her derivative beneficiary. I came to the US about a year back to pursue my MBA. I will be going for my interns with Amazon in May and also have my final exams in may. All this interview mess has landed me into a very precarious position

I would really appreciate some feedback

The medical must be done in the other country and the interview is required and can only be done in the country of visa issuance.

After approval at the interview all other visas are canceled. You cannot return to the USA on your previously issued visa.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Hey Inky

Thanks for your reply. I would like to ask how long after the interview approval can I get my passport stamped to fly back to the US. Any specific time duration ?

Depends on how fast your countrys embassy is working on getting them back out to the people who are approved. Usually I see 2-3 weeks sometimes less. You might want to check your regional forums to see if anyone has recently posted their time for visa/passport return out of your country.

1. Is it possible for me to carry my medical examination report during the interview. In my earlier query I had enquired whether I can take the medical exam in the United States upon which I was told that I would need to administer an exam in India. Due to the time constraints and a busy schedule I would only have time to come to India take a medical and show up for the interview .

2. Returning to the United States immediately after the visa interview is extremely crucial for me as I need to commence my internship that begins on May 20 th. Is it possible to expedite the process of being able to return to the United States after the interview process. ? ( Please refer attachment)

3. On the other hand if I am denied an immigrant visa, will my student Visa (F-1) continue to hold ?

4. Is it possible to archive the conversation so that the consular officer who interviews me has a reference for my special situation

I really look forward to your reply. Thanks so much
