American wants to do volunteer work in Canada for a month

Hi,

I have an American friend who is planning to do a month of volunteer work in Nova Scotia. I'm not sure what the type of volunteer work is. She asked me if she would have problems at the border and I don't think so, but I wondered if anyone else had any thoughts. I was thinking maybe she should have a letter on hand from the organization, just to be safe. But I don't even know if that's necessary. I guess the question is whether doing volunteer work raises any alarm bells with Canadian border guards.

Any thoughts? Experiences?

Your friend should check out www.roadtocanada.com to find out the rules for Canada (I know you need a visa to do volunteer work in the U.S.)
