Hi All,

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Was just reviewing the NOA's I received in relation to my I-130. I actually received 3 for my case:

August 17, 2012: Application received by CSC

August 24, 2012: Application transferred to NBC

March 29, 2013: I-130 Approved

My question is this: Is the August 24, 2012 indication of an error by USCIS and case for expedite? I checked the processing times here and I-130 isn't on the list of applications they process.

Is this a reason to expedite? (USCIS Error)

Is there any purpose is filing expedite after I-130 approved? (Does USCIS expedite request work at NVC/Consulate?)

Thanks for your feedback and for the great resource!!

No, it's not an error. There was an alert posted on the USCIS website about the transfers. If you search the forums you'll find so many posts about it may blow your mind! Lol! I kid of course, but only about the mind blowing. Lol

You can get through the NVC in about a month if you count from the day you get case numbers then it's normally another month or two to interview. Lately it's taken about a month to get to NVC and another 2 weeks to a month for case numbers. Thankfully the beneficiary, in your case, is in Canada so you get online forms and the option of electronic processing. This means you put all the documents into a PDF and email it, bringing the originals to the interview. 3 cheers for Canada! Lol.

I highly suggest reading Saylin's Wiki about the NVC and electronic processing for Montreal. :)
