Has anyone needed a Brunei Police Record lately? There seems to be some confusion on how to get one through the embassy (in our case the Brunei Embassy in Manila)-their embassy has no website and information is virtually non-existent. One version says no letter from the requesting embassy and one says yes you need a letter from the requesting embassy. I would like to get ours as early as possible and not have to wait on a routine matter later in the process. Thanks RobertDski

Try to contact the ambassador in Brunei.

Let see if that helps.

If that doesn't help, another way is to get the police report from the Police Headquarters.

Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarters

Jalan Gadong BE1710

Brunei Darussalam

Telephone: 673-2-423901

Fax: 673-2-426290

http://www.polis.gov.bn/

The website is in Malay language unfortunately.

Police certificates can be obtained in Brunei within approximately two weeks. When requesting a police clearance certificate, an applicant must submit the following:

Photocopy of his/her current passport.

Photocopy of his/her Brunei identity card, if available.

Evidence of the duration of the applicant's residency in Brunei.

Fee of fifty Brunei dollars.

The above items should be sent to:

The Commissioner

Royal Brunei Police Force

Gadong Headquarters

Bandar Seri Begawan

Attn: Awg Mohammad Abdullah - Translator

If the applicant lives outside of Brunei, a request for a police certificate, along with the required passport and identity card photocopies, may be sent to the Embassy by courier service.
