Is anyone going through Iraq?

My fiancee is completing school in India soon, and we planned to go through New Delhi. We are still waiting for NOA2 so really we never went through New Delhi or any embassy yet. If he completes school before we get the next notice of action, he will most likely move back to Iraq, and we will have to make an address & embassy change.

has anyone done this before (change)?

does anyone know much about Iraqi embassy processing times/ success rate?

please go ahead and share your personal experiences if you like. :)

thank you,

Hi PrincessHalo,

I feel bad that no one has responded to you, though it looks like from previous posts you made some of your questions have already been answered. Yes, you can update his address/consulate he will interview at when you are submitting the K-1 visa packet (packet 2) to NVC. If he cannot obtain residency in India after his graduation, he won't have much choice.

Looking back there really aren't many Iraq petitioners on this site, at least not actively. I don't know if you've looked in the "Portals" tab of this site to see the old threads on Iraq but there many be helpful information for you there. Looks like there are reviews for the US Embassy in Baghdad too, so you should study those. As for a processing time/success rate, such measures don't really exist for the Embassies, at least not that they will share with the public. Every case is different and you won't know in advance how long it will take. My advice? Wish for the best but expect the worst.

Hope you get your petition approved soon! All the best (F)

Thank you, good luck to you too.

Our interview in New Delhi was not approved due to "not convinced" of relationship! Sucks because I am glued to my phone/computer. I cant put him down unless its for sleeping. lol. So we will try again only this time we ARE going through IRAQ embassy. I think home country will provide more a comfortable CO. We are sad we have to start over, but its the best way, to be able to see each other and try to gather more proofs than the first visa.
