I've been looking at everyone's time frames and progress like a hawk. I'm trying to figure out when to visit my fiance in the USA without overstaying my visit. I've looked at Igor's list and the forum's on here but I'm still a bit confused with the time frame from the Vermont to NVC to Montreal. I'm expecting to wait 6 months from NOA 1 to NOA 2. Then I'm expecting a 3 month wait for my interview in Montreal. Should I be calculating another month from when Vermont sends my files to NVC? Is calculating a total of 9-10 months reasonable from NOA1 to Visa in hand? (And if someone moves this to a special forum, send me the link, I can never find them on here lol)I also know these are current estimates and hopefully Vermont keeps up or goes DOWN on their time frame. Hopefully some fellow filers in Texas whose fiance is in Montreal can help me (who've already been approved OR have their interview date..please respond)

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I am waiting for NOA2 as well but I feel your estimations are about right. 6 mths to NOA2, then 2-3 months for Interview. From what I have seen the wait between NVC and Montreal varies, but I would say your 1 month guess is a pretty decent estimation.

Good luck!

Mailing usually only takes about 2 weeks from the USA to Quebec.

K-1s don't stay at the NVC very long either.

P3 is available online and you can mail it as soon as you know MTL has your case.

Montreal you book your own interview and you can change it if a closer date comes up as well.

There should be a pinned guide on all of the info to get through Montreal quickly. Its all based on your actions not waiting for them.

Can CR1 also change their date or am I set with what NVC books?

I saw a post where a CR1 changed their date by calling the Montréal number listed here: http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_service_options

Here’s the thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/413079-rescheduled-my-april-interview-for-march-today/page__p__5962309__fromsearch__1#entry5962309

probably case by case.

Did you get "case completed" notice from NVC?

It wold typical to have 2-3 months gap between "case completed" and "interview date".

They send you email sometimes a few weeks before the interview date to tell you that you need to do medical exam and you will receive a checklist for the documents you need to bring to the interview too.

There is no case completed at NVC for K-1, its not a 2-3 month gap, your information is in the incorrect post and not useful to K-1 people in here. They book their own interview dates and they go online to get information for the medical and the package 3 sent to the embassy.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping that my case will be completed (visa in hand) by 9 months. But who knows...that's the question of the hour, every day. lol! I encourage all the Canadians to post their timeline. I've noticed alot of blanks.

Hannah, my fiancé is in Texas and I am in Ontario.. had my interview in Montreal in January. You can have a look at our timeline... Our case took a year from K1 petition to Visa in hand.

Of course we had an RFE which set us back a bit, but with Vermont it's hard telling. Just make sure you stay on top of everything... start getting stuff together on your P3 checklist now, so you are ready when it gets to Montreal. Good Luck!

My fiancé's divorce decree. Apparently what he got from the courts was not the right document,

so we had to send in the correct paperwork.
