We are preparing my fiance's AOS paperwork for after we are married. On the last page of I-485 the applicant's statement section asked whether they read and understand english or if someone has translated the questions. I translated everything for my fiance and just want to make sure that I can be considered the interpreter or do we have to have someone certified translate everything for him? I was able to translate the paperwork for the I-129F process but I wasn't sure if I was accepted for this translation as well.

It's accepted as long as you're fluent in both languages and guided your husband so he knows what he's signing.

Does your husband speak a little English?

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

He is taking classes but barely speaks any English I am fluent in both languages and went through everything with him. Thank you so much for your help.
