Hi guys,

I am currently living in Hong Kong, and will file for an I-130 in april. One question I have though is related to where they will send the documents. I will most likely change apartments sometime in may-july, as my lease will be finished. One thing I am curious about though, is if it is possible to change the address of my residence while the applications are being processed. Has anybody been in a similar situation, or can anybody give me some advice on what to do?

Thank you

Gerry

Yes, you call the up and file a change of address. Not difficult.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Sorry to re-ask, but I assume you meant "call them up"? If so, will it cause any delay in the processing, and is this information shown in writing somewhere? I will probably move while the I-130 is being processed at the Chicago Lockbox Facility. Thank you for the help.

The lockbox is an acceptance point and your file will immediately be moved to a processing center. Yes, CALL the USCIS and make sure the representative you speak to can do what is necessary. It probably won't cause undue delay, but you may see it reflected in the online case status once that finally shows up.

Yes very easy. Use your case # and log into uscis.gov website.

I was going to suggest that, but people seem to think it's better to speak directly to a rep. I thought about it again and maybe it's better to do it online so you can feel more sure that it was entered properly. It may take a bit longer to process but that's not a given either. Thanks for mentioning it.
