Since my Wife has never lived in another Country does she need police clearance or just NBI Clearance?

thanks

Mark

Philippine-born visa applicants are required to furnish certificates issued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Applicants should send requests for certificates together with certified checks or money orders for the fees and postage to the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Metro Manila, Philippines.

YMMV

My fiance is also from the RP. She needs a NBI clearance stamped "for foreign travel" or "for US travel". My fiance does not have the stamp on her NBI so will be getting a new clearance.

You ONLY need the NBI if you have never left the Phils

Dear Mark,

I'm from RP too and your wife needs a police clearance from where she's residing now.If she had lived in the other part of the country when she turn 16yrs old she should get another police certificate from that place.Of course you need an NBI clearance too and state in the application its for "US travel".Hope that helps.

The NBI request should be for Travel Abroad and you ar elooking for "No record on file".... you can do a search or look in the 177+ page manila embassy thread and the NBI information is there. My fiancee just got her NBI clearance on Monday. Ken

i am a filipina & i've been to australia and singapore as a tourist (family sponsored visa), based on my experience i did not get any police clearance at all. police clearance is for records inside the city or place where ur fiancee/fiance is living while NBI its a national record. to make things sure get the 2, police clearance for records in the place wheres she's at and NBI for records nationwide. so that consulate wont ask further questions about Police or NBI records. anywayz, its not difficult to get any of those as long has you have no records at all.

Note, it dosnt mean u never ever left the country u dont need a police or NBI clearance, its an SOP to make sure that the one applying has no criminal record(s).

Claudeth went to the NBI office in Cagayan to get the clearance and specifically told them it was for a fiancee visa to the U.S.
