Case in green folder

Hi All

I filed my application on last september and did my bio on October. I had my naturalization interview today in Chicago, IL

Officer 1st went through civics questions and here are the question I remember :

1. What does the president's cabinet does

2. Who wrote declaration of independence

3.We elect US Senator for how many years

4.What is the highest court in united states

I don't remember other two questions. I also passed reading and writing question. Then the officer went though my form line by line. IO asked me if I had any tickets. I had two tickets and both went to court and judge dismissed the case. I had not mentioned that in form. IO asked me if I have the letter from court and I handed the dismiss order from court. IO told me these tickets are fine and it will not effect my case. IO was very nice and friendly. I am very thankful I got very good IO.

IO then told me that office have not got A file yet, this is why my folder is green. He cannot make any decision until he gets the A file and he does not know when he will get those A file and where is it. He also does not know how long I have wait to be scheduled for oath ceremony. I live out of Chicago and they have scheduled only three oath ceremonies throughout the year on this city and one is on coming march 22. I wish I could get that oath.

I am desperately waiting to be USC so that I can upgrade my wife's I-130 petition. Its been more than a year I have not seen my wife and I dont know how long I have to wait.

Any thoughts or comments regarding my case will be greatly appreciated. Also I will really appreciate if any one here have been through my journey can tell me how long they waited for the oath letter.

If you live nearby the USCIS office, i would keep in touch via infopass. Additionally, see if you can have your oath ceremony in Chicago, I believe it must be more frequent than 3 times/year.

Were you asked at all about taxes?

Thanks for your reply. I live 3 hrs drive away from USCIS office. IO had told me that they do not conduct oath ceremony in chicago for the applicant who are not living in chicago area. IO told me that USCIS will schedule oath ceremony in my town and when I called city court they said they have already done one oath on January and another is in Last week of March next will be in June and another will be in October.

I was asked whether I have filed my taxes on time or not. I asked the IO if need to show my Tax transcript or not, IO told me its not necessary. I had Tax Transcript of past 5 yrs ready with me.

I just feel bad that they lost my file and its not my fault at all. Even though its not my fault I still have to wait and even IO also does not know when they will get my file. I dont what happens if they became unable to get my file. Will they reject my application saying we lost your file or they will put me in hold forever ?
