Where can she do it?? ASAP??

passport renewal here in the Phil can take to up to 1 month... 20-30 working days... i was about to change my passport and use my husband's surname but I was discouraged since it will take me 30 calendar days before I could get it from DFA. besides, they require me to first attend the CFO seminar since i have a foreign husband. But the DFA representative told me that Filipinas have the option to not use their husband's family name in their passport or IDs. And i've read in the Phil embassy's website that it is fine and the name that will appear on the visa will be the same name written on my passport so basically my maiden name. just make sure to bring original copies of marriage certificates esp when traveling to US.

She REALLY wants my name on it.

Can she do it after she gets here?

she can go to DFA and ask how long will it take to renew/change her passport... if it will be more than 20 working day, then she has no other choice but to keep her current passport otherwise, changing it might delay the process... in my case, i will just change my passport after... my ID cards are still on my maiden name and changing them also requires longer days...

They use the name that is on the passport you submitted, if you changed her passport send a copy by email with a request to change name. It took them 5 days to change my wifes name.

I submitted my married name passport and it still comes up with my maiden name on the payment page and in all the emails? :S

how do I get my husband on the appointment list to come to the interview with me? Do I have to wait until the case has arrived at the embassy or can I call now?

last feb 14 we had a visa hour from the consular's office and someone asked the same question and they said that you don't have to set anther appointment request for the petitioner, he/she can just join you during the interview and it is actually encouraged that petitioners should be with their spouses during interview since the interview is about proving the relationship or legitimacy of the marriage.

at last! i'm done reading all the posts and replies on this thread.

seems everyone in here have filed the petition without the assistance of a lawyer and I feel like it's a better option since you can have control on what is going on. In my case, I think instead of calling NVC or USCIS to check about our case, I think we have to call our lawyer everyday for her to be aggressive in completing our case. I'm not sure if we will also receive any updates from NVC.

I have been hanging out in the April Interviews thread where lots of happy people are approaching the finish line...

I have been searching, searching, searching and need some accurate advise, pretty please?

* My case has been closed and my interview date has been set at 30th April 2013 (I have sent an email to Sydney embassy requesting early interview)

Question - After we move house, which of the following bodies must I inform:

US Embassy Sydney

Non of the above

Next Question:

Must I provide our new physical address

OR

May I provide the address of the person who will continue to collect and forward our mail when we leave Aus

I look forward to you reply/ies

many thanks,

Gabby
