Hi there,

My fiance and I are gathering the documentation for my K1 visa interview. He is putting together all the docs for the AOS and the letter stating his intention to marry me, so here's the question: can he just fax me all this or does he need to send the original form and documents to me via mail?

Thanks!

I'm confused. If you're going for the K1 interview, why are you gathering documents for AOS? AOS is a process that is completed after you get married in the US. The K1 comes first.

Documents at the interview for the K1 should be originals. Make copies, but be sure to have the originals as well.

I assume that maybe OP meant the Affidavit of Support, and just confused the abbreviations? I agree, forms requiring signatures should be originals. Otherwise, your consulate should provide you with information about which documents have to be originals, and which ones can be sent in copy.

By AOS I meant Affidavit of Support - sorry for the confusion! (I'm still learning the different acronyms :) )

Thank you all for your replies, I shall ask my fiance to mail me all the original docs and the original form with his signature.

I should have realized that. Too much time spent in the AOS forum. My mistake.
