So i just wanted to clarify something, which may seem minute, but it is kicking me in the rear. As i read instructions on submitting i-130 with intentions to file for i-601a, provisional stateside waiver, the procedure states to notify NVC as soon as i have "paid the immigrant visa processing fee". is the immigrant visa petition, application, or how ever you want to call it, the actual i-130 petition?? i want to be sure i am not leaving anything out as i submit i-130, petition for spouse. i actually mailed off the i-130 yesterday. if i understand correctly, i wasn't supposed to file anything else, such as the 480, since she came in country without inspection and would not be eligible for file for adjustment of status concurrently with i-130, correct? . is there a how to guidelone on this website to follow for the new i-601a procedure...sorry if missed it already. thanks a bunch all.

No the immigrant visa fee is paid to the NVC after your approved petition is sent there. It's also called the IV bill or IV fee.

thanks soo much for reply! so at this point:

i wait for i-130 decision from USCIS

if approved, they forward to NVC.

NVC notifies me that i need to pay a certain amount for visa processing?

i pay that fee and then let them know that i will be filing i-601a

is there a separate application that needs to be filed as i make that visa payment in which i am applying for a visa?

i know i-601a cannot be filed until after 3/4/13, but do we know yet where they will be going?

thanks again for the help.
