Once my husband gets the visa, and since I live in Florida, does his POE have to be at the Miami international airport? or can it be the Fort lauderdale international airport? Does it even matter which airport he goes to?

His POE will be wherever he lands in the USA first. It does not matter which airport that is.

It dont matter where u as long as its in america his POE will be there then he can get a flight to florida

for example

He lands in Detroit or Atlanta his poe will be there then u get him a connect flight to atlanta this will be a domestic flight which means he will not go through the same thing he went through in his first entry trust me i did mine January 6 2013 it was a pretty cool experience
