Hi all,

My wife is scheduled for her interview Monday, March 4th in Long Island City, NY office. Assuming she's approved, when do you think her oath will be? I believe the Oath will be in Brooklyn Court House, correct?

I'm going on a 5-week business trip on Saturday, March 16th. I would love to be able to attend. If her oath is scheduled for when I'm away we may just reschedule. There's really no hurry on her or my part. Anybody know what the delay would be for rescheduling?

TIA

Eric-Pris, my interview was in Long Island City Queens on Feb 6th and I was given the option of either waiting and getting my interview letter on the spot, which I did, or wait for them to mail it to me. I had my oath Feb 14th, so 8 days later, in the Brooklyn Courthouse. Just so you know, if you decide to accompany her, nobody is allowed in the actual courtroom except for the citizens to be. You will have to wait upstairs, on the 3rd floor, in the cafeteria and watch what's going on in the courtroom on some TV screens. For the most part it's checking names and documents, the only "action" is during the last 30 min, out of 3 1/2 hrs that I was there, when we took the oath and the judge said a few words. You might still want to go, but just so you know what to expect. Good luck to your wife on her interview!
