Hi All,

Im collecting all the requirements for my I130. I have the marriage contract but it is from the local civil office ( paranaque city) and not the NSO copy. The NSO copy is still being processed, and might take I while. I want to send my application asap, and would a non nso copy suffice?

Thanks

I am in the same boat. I would hate to get denied by sending in the wrong certificate. If anyone has filed a I-130 with a NON NSO wedding certificate and been approved, please post your information. The NSO certificate can take months. Has anyone tried calling the embassy?

I havent been able to call them yet. I did contact one of the fixers though (2 of them infact), saying that it is ok to file with a local civil registry version as long as you indicate in a note that the NSO copy is being processed.

Not sure if anyone can confirm this. This would really help.

we have the same case our marriage contract from Nso is being process too.Anyways did you file it already?Tahnks

Havent filed it yet, but I am about to. Thanks.

You can file with a copy of the local certificate. The NSO certificate is not needed until the NVC stage.

we only used a copy of the certificate of marriage from the Civil Registers Office and was told to have the NSO copy by the time of our interview. Ours was approved with no problem

Does the copy have to be a certified true copy? Or can it just be a photo copy of the original? Thank you.

You file a photocopy now. At the NVC stage, you file the actual NSO certificate.
