dear everyone,

1-130 filed oct. 5 ,2012 and i received hard copy of 1-797 Notice of Action, and the petition has been approved.Would like to know what is the next preparation I need to do. I'll be away for a month and will be out of US for that period of time. Any advices? Thanks a lot.

I read the details of the notice and says: " you should allow a minimum of 30 days for Dept. of state processing before contacting the NVC."

message from USCIS online:

Expect a 30-45-day delay between when your application or petition is filed and when your information is available in Case Status Online, depending on the volume of applications USCIS receives.

Any experience and message will be highly appreciated.thanks.

congrats on your approval. ignore the ignore the USCIS case status alert message (it is for new filers trying to check their case status).

wait at least one week and start calling NVC to see if your case has arrived and have them give you your case numbers over the phone.

if you r the USC and are traveling to meet your spouse, try and collect all the originals of the documents you will be needed for the NVC stage whle you are there inclduing the police Certificate since you have been approved. have your spouse fill out the DS-230 FORM and sign ONLY part 1. Then also have him/her sign three blank DS 230 ( again only PART 1) incase you discover an error and need to redo the form later.

Meanwhile hop over to this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/412212-nvc-filers-february-2013/
