Hello GH folks, and anyone else who may be able to answer this. I received my NOA1 about a week ago. I know that everyone says to wait until the NOA2 arrives before I send the copy of the I-129F to my fiance, however, I just wanted to know if there is anything I can prepare or look into now before the madness begins (the NOA2 arrives). Or if there is anything that my fiance can do? Thank you.

There is nothing for you nor the petitioner to do for now. You just have wait until the NOA 2 arrives. The police clearance certificate will only be valid for 3months so you need to get you interview date before. The medicals too is only valid for 6months so just relax. In any case you would need your interview appointment letter too before you can go in for your medicals at Akai Clinic just around the embassy here in Accra.

Welcome to our beautiful WAITING ROOM.

I happen to be going to see my fiance in two weeks and we do not expect the NOA2 until May/June but I have a beautiful personalized binder (with pictures of us on the cover)filled with the replica of the petition, my tax returns for 3 yrs and the W2 for 2012, a letter from my employer, more photos of us together, and a list of questions that I have gleaned from here from other people's Ghana Consulate interview and our corresponding answers, divorce decrees, etc. which I am going to take to him. I also have a summarized version of the steps for him to expect. Police record, vaccinations, etc. I am still hoping to make it for the interview but just in case it is not possible, he should be ready for the next step with this information packet. I hope this helps

Just out of curiosity, why would we have to wait until the NOA 2 to send a copy of the I-129F packet to the foriegn fiance? I'm still a month or so away from a NOA 2, but my fiance was visiting me last month and I just gave him the copy of the packet. Should I have waited and why?

Its nothing to worry about. It doesnt change anything if you have already given him copies of the I-129f petition you filed. Some people wait and later send the copies of the I-129f to the beneficiary when they have received the NOA2 so that they can anticipate the interview date and attach their recent pay stubs ot the copies and send to the beneficiary.

oh ok. Good. It's actually easier for me to hand deliver the papers to my fiance. He comes up for visits every few months or so why pay postage if I'm going to see him anyway. Thanks!

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I'll start compiling my financial information.

First, thumbs up for the way you think! good.gif getting information ahead of time is always good.

Then you can go check the GH forum (in regional forums) and gather specifics about how things happen there. Check the Portal too. And think about everything that can be specific to your situation and ask questions!

Good luck in your visa journey!

From the day we sent I-129F to the day I recieved my K-1: Exactly 9 months
