Hello All, my NOA2 seems to be within reach, and I wanted to be as ready as possible for its arrival. i was looking at the affidavit of support, and I realized that perhaps I may be denied as I do not own my own home, but rather reside at my mother's house. In terms of income, I think I'll be ok. But my question is, I have read about co-sponsors, but what form would I use to have a co-sponsor (such as my mother) vow to aid in supporting my Fiancee? Is there a special form? Or is it a mere addendum to the i-134?

Thanks in advance!!

Well, youre going to be in the interview and the persons going to say, Im sorry your 134 does not qualify, do you have a co-sponsor and youre going to say, why yes I do! heres the form and hand it to them. Or you can hand them both your 134 and the co-sponsors 134 at the same time.

If you dont have it with you at the time they can give you a denial form to come back when you have it.

Your not having your own home and living in your mothers house will not affect your Affidavit (I-134) at all. I to lived in my mothers home at the time of filing for our I-129F and K1 and this did not affect anything.

Here is a link to the 2013 Fed. Poverty Guidlines. 2013 Fed. Pov. Guidelines this will help you figure out if you make enough to be the SOLE sponsor.

If you do need to use your mother as a Co-Sponsor, She herself must also fill out a I-134 form, completely with all of her proof.

you also will completely fill out a separate I-134., complete with financial proof. ( instructions for the I-134 will give you list of documents needed)

Like the others have said, it doesn't matter. You do, however, need to check that your Embassy accepts co-sponsors. Some do, some don't. Each is a little different. You yourself will need to fill out an I-134, and your co-sponsor will submit one as well and you'll hand them in on the day of the interview. They'll also need all the proofs etc (tax returns and whatnot).

Agreed! Check your country's forums and ask if they accept co-sponsors. Some people are going to interviews and denied because their country's embassy does not accept a co-sponsor.
