Almost there, but we're kind of stuck...

Hey all!

So my fiance and I are in the process of setting up our (actually his) interview date at the Ciudad Juarez consulate.

We have gotten almost all forms ready (and I thank God for not letting us lose our heads!), but we are stuck on the form DS-260.

They are asking me for an Invoice ID #.

I found on many forums that this number comes in a letter that the NVC sent to me. I have checked all letters I received from the USCIS and the NVC and I cannot find that number!!

I decided to do some online "research", and found that I need to call the NVC to get that ID #...is this true? :help:

I am a nervous wreck when it comes to making phone calls and I found I could just e-mail them, how long can it take to get a reply?

Oh, and lastly, can someone explain to me what that form (DS-260) is for?

Thanks in advance!

Hey! I called the NVC and they gave me the invoice number. I'd try calling them and asking. If they don't know, call again and ask someone else, because they should be able to give you that number. Don't be afraid to call them! I'm not a huge phone person either, but they were really nice! They answered very quickly and gave me all the numbers I asked for right away. That'd be faster than emailing, I'd think. I'm not an expert on the DS 260, but I'll share what I know, and hopefully someone more experienced can explain better. It's an important online form you have to fill out before you are able to pay your MRV fee and schedule your appointment online. When you fill it out, you should keep a few copies of the receipt. There's an option to email it to yourself if you don't have a printer at that moment. They will ask for it at your interview. You'll also need the number on the receipt to make your MRV payment so you can schedule your interview online. Good luck! You're almost there!!

They do not provide that information in a letter. You must call them to get all the needed numbers for filling out the form. As others have said, they are nice and will help you out. Just let them know what you need. You can get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC by calling 603-334-0700.
